Gallery – Fire at McLaren hospitality

Shortly before Free Practice 3 for the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix, a fire broke out at the McLaren hospitality centre.

“This morning we evacuated our Team Hub paddock hospitality unit following a fire alert, the team has been safely evacuated while the local fire brigade handle the issue,” read a McLaren statement.

No McLaren personnel were harmed but the hospitality centre was significantly damaged. Four fire safety personnel are being treated for smoke inhalation.

Fire crews controlled proceedings
The hospitality centre reportedly suffered significant damge
Paramedics were on hand to treat those affected
Reports state four fire crew members are being treated for smoke inhalation
The McLaren hospitality centre was soon cordoned off
