Lando Norris led a McLaren front row lockout in qualifying for the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix with a time of 1:15.096s.
Norris led team-mate and home hero Oscar Piastri by 0.084s with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen taking third.
Mercedes’ George Russell was fourth with Yuki Tsunoda taking a mightily impressive fifth for Racing Bulls.
An impressive showing saw two Williams drivers make the top-10 in qualifying at the Albert Park circuit for the first time in a decade with Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz finishing sixth and 10th respectively.
Albon’s showing resigned the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton to seventh and eighth with the Scuderia well off of the ultimate pace.
Pierre Gasly led the Alpine charge in ninth.
