Formula 1 has confirmed the release date of the wildly popular Netflix docu-series Drive to Survive, which is set for its seventh season.

Season Seven of the beloved BTS documentary is set to premiere on Netflix on Friday, March 7, one week before the start of the 2025 F1 season.

Fans can expect to peel back behind the curtain as Netflix tells the story of an enthralling 2024 campaign as Max Verstappen fought hard to defend his Drivers’ title.

An episode synopsis has not been released at this stage, but the official poster put out across F1 socials is telling.

The poster depicts Verstappen looking in his rearview mirror, whereby McLaren’s Lando Norris and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc are looming ominously in view with the tagline reading: “Watch your back”.

2024 saw Verstappen and Red Bull start strongly, winning seven of the first 10 races before a 10-round winless streak allowed the likes of McLaren and Ferrari to mount a challenge.

Verstappen held on to claim a fourth successive Drivers’ title while Norris helped McLaren secure its first Constructors’ crown in 26 years.

Meanwhile, seven drivers one multiple races in a single season for the first time in F1 history.

Expect Netflix to cover this and more, given the off-track dramas that were littered throughout the F1 campaign, such as Lewis Hamilton announcing his move to Ferrari kicking off a year-long driver silly season, the FIA’s swearing row and Verstappen’s public spat with George Russell.

Drive to Survive first aired in 2019 and has been largely credited for the surge in popularity that F1 has experienced in the USA.
